FAQs

Concrete Sawing Company

  • How much does concrete weigh?

A general estimate is 150 pounds per cubic foot. To calculate the weight of concrete, multiply the length by the width by the height (thickness) and then multiply that result by 150.
  • How much clearance do you need to wall saw an opening?

For wall saw mounting, we require 4 feet of clearance perpendicular to the wall (extending straight back) and 2 feet of clearance from one side of the opening, which could be the top, bottom, or either side.
  • Why must water be used when sawing concrete?

Water serves as both a coolant and lubricant for the diamond-impregnated blade while also preventing airborne dust during the cutting process.
  • What can I do to prepare the area for concrete sawing?

Begin by removing all debris, furniture, carpeting, and obstacles from the work area and access points. This may also include removing siding, sheetrock, and framing. We'll need access to all sides of the work area for cleanup and safety purposes. Since concrete sawing requires water and generates a small amount of dusty mist, all of our trucks are equipped with wet vacuums for slurry containment and cleanup.
  • Will you remove and haul off the concrete debris?

Yes, we offer full-service removal with a dedicated crew, dump trucks, and the necessary machinery for loading, breaking, and transporting concrete to recycling facilities.
  • Can concrete be ground down?

Yes, we have concrete floor grinders and scarifiers available to address trip hazards and sloping issues.
  • How close can you slab saw parallel to a wall?

The blade guard on our slab saw requires approximately 2-3 inches of clearance from the wall when cutting parallel.
  • How close can you slab saw perpendicular to a wall?

The blade guard on our slab saw requires approximately 3 inches of clearance from the wall when cutting perpendicular.
  • Can you saw concrete flush with a wall or floor?

Yes, we can perform flush cuts against walls or floors.
  • Can you saw an opening without overcuts in the corners?

Yes, we can create openings without overcuts in the corners.
